SCOPE OF WORK

  • AR solution development
  • 3D model integration
  • Product view implementation
  • Code generation and handling
  • Product model selection view

Gree’s new tool lets users check how an air conditioner will look in their home before they buy it. The virtual try-on uses AR, interactive 3D models and a simple QR code system to make it easier to reach the right decision.

Key project goals and challenges

  • Giving customers a realistic preview of the product before purchase

  • Integrating the 3D model catalogue with an intuitive user journey

  • Building a reliable mechanism for generating and handling QR codes
  • Ensuring the solution works across different operating systems and devices

A new way to present air conditioners

Gree needed a solution that would bring the presentation of its air conditioners up to the level of today’s buying habits. Customers want to see the unit in a real context – not in a catalogue, but on their own wall, at the scale and in the light of their own home. The answer was a virtual try-on built on AR technology, combining an interactive 3D view, a clear model catalogue and instant access via QR code. The project covered the development of the tool, the optimisation of the 3D models and the rollout of a stable process on mobile devices.

From the catalogue to your own interior

The journey was designed so that users can go through it without having to learn anything new. Once an air conditioner has been picked from the catalogue, the unit can be viewed in full 3D and then, after scanning a QR code, placed inside the user’s own interior. The system reproduces proportions, colour and light precisely, so users can see how the unit will actually look on the wall alongside the rest of the room.

Technology matched to the client’s needs

At the core of the try-on sits an open AR engine, extended with a set of custom features. We built a mechanism for generating QR codes for individual models, an integration with the product catalogue and a consistent 3D view aligned with Gree’s visual brand standards. The unit models, supplied by the client, were optimised for performance and interactivity on smartphones. Everything was tested across different operating systems and browsers so that the final tool runs smoothly regardless of the user’s environment.

A modern way to present a product

The virtual try-on has become a genuine boost to the buying process. Users can decide faster, because they judge the product directly in the space where it will be working. For the brand it means a sales tool that sets the offer apart, raises the quality of presentation and supports its educational efforts. AR has stopped being a novelty and become a practical feature that fits the way today’s customers choose home appliances.
